UPDATE: Due to the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases, the Coastwide MLK Celebration Committee announced this year’s events are being postponed to February 3-6, 2022. The MLK Parade and Battle of the Bands will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022. More details coming soon!

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (GULF COAST WEEKEND) - Each January, our nation pauses to remember the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Since 1985, the Coastwide MLK Celebration Committee has worked to create activities and service opportunities for South Mississippians wishing to honor the King legacy.
