Christmas is just a few weeks away – but there are several holiday events on the coast to make you feel as if Christmas has arrived early. Be sure to regularly check the Gulf Coast Weekend Holiday Events Guide to enjoy all of the Christmas cheer!

Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival

Jones Park, Gulfport

5:30-9:30pm & the show ends at 10:30pm (weather permitting)

‘This spectacular light show features over 1,200,000 lights across Jones Park and is being presented as a walking tour OR aboard a free heated trolley. Participants will be able to visit with Santa in Santa’s Village every night, take pictures at any of the Elfie Selfie stations located throughout the park and enjoy hot chocolate, marshmallows, and concession items available for purchase. Bring your Christmas wish list to drop in the Letters to Santa mailbox.

Tickets for rides such as Santa’s Big Wheel, the Merry Go Round Carousel, Santa Express Tour Train, Skyracer, Santa’s Kid’s Master Express Train are also available for purchase inside the park. Guests may also wish to Park & Pay at the CTA Parking Garage – Fee includes covered parking, show entry, and free heated shuttle service to and from the show in Jones Park.

33 Days of Christmas – Nourishing Place & 1st United Methodist Church

504 Pass Rd. Gulfport

5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

‘Come experience the magic of Christmas Past with our 33 Days of Christmas and Trains. On December 5th we are excited to have the Nourishing Place & the First United Methodist Church of Gulfport for a celebration of Christmas. It is a FREE event with lots of lights and trains. They will be serving cookies and cocoa and singing Christmas Carols. Santa every Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We will have over 1 million lights surrounding our museum in the outdoor gardens. Admission is FREE. Grab your camera and get some great photos. The magic of Christmas is upon us. This event is fun for all ages with over 88 running model trains, riding trains, 2 million pieces of LEGOs, and so much more!’

In addition, the Bellingrath Home is decorated in its holiday finery and enhanced with beautiful poinsettias.’

Annual Children’s Christmas Parade & Christmas on the Town Green

Downtown Biloxi, Howard Ave. to the Town Green

The annual parade features kindergarten to 4th grade age children riding in hay wagons to celebrate Christmas.

The parade will start at 6pm at the Frank G. Gruich Center, 591 Howard Avenue, travel west on Howard Avenue, through the Vieux Marche, turn south on Reynoir, east on Jackson, south on Lameuse Street and end at the Town Green.

Celebrate Christmas with holiday festivities on the Town Green from 6:30 to 8pm. This free event will feature the lighting of the Christmas Tree, Santa Claus giving away goodies and hot chocolate will be available while event goers decorate the Christmas Tree.

Annual Christmas in The Pass

‘Located in Downtown Pass Christian, join the merriment featuring Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elves, as well as food, arts, and gifts. The event will also include a Christmas tree lighting and parade brought to you by Pass Christian Main Street. The Pass Christian Chamber of Commerce held a Christmas in the Pass Art Contest and Benjamin Rusher with Integrity Tattoo Company was named this year’s winner. His artwork is displayed on the event t-shirts as well as on the promotional materials leading up to the event.’

Boarding begins at 4 p.m., departs at 4:30 p.m.

‘Climb aboard and be a part of the Biloxi Christmas on the Water boat parade with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Attractions Association! There will be food, door prizes, raffles, and at the end of the parade a fireworks show. The Captain Pete parades with all the other boats in Biloxi’s Christmas on the Water serving heavy hors d’oeuvres provided by various coast restaurants. Cash bar, No BYOB or Coolers Allowed.’

‘Open to the public, Santa’s Workshop will host various fun-filled stations with activities such as pinecone decorating, Christmas ornament making, and other arts and crafts. Hot chocolate, cookies and concessions will be available. Mrs. Claus and the elves will be there so bring your cameras for pictures!

Decorate your jeeps, scooters, atv’s, truck wagons and golf carts and join us in the annual D’Iberville Christmas Parade. Line up in the parking lot by Auto Zone at 4pm for a magical children’s walking parade ending at the town green where prizes will be awarded for different participants.

Santa’s arrival and lighting of the city tree will immediately follow.’

The Sugar Plum Saturday fun begins downtown at 3pm until the Christmas Parade rolls out (6pm). The FREE event is held in the park of the Hancock Whitney Bank on 14th Street downtown Gulfport. Visit with Santa, create memories in the “Elf” photo booth, decorate ginger bread cookies, free face painting, reindeer games and so much more! Be sure to join us for an afternoon of fun then stay for the Harbor Lights Christmas Parade that will pass right in front of the event!

Gingerbread House Engineering

Learn about the Engineering Design Process and build your own Elf size gingerbread house that would make Santa proud. This event is for ages 6 and up. Space is limited. Special Members Pricing: $10 child (select member) $5 adult (select primary member) Non-Member Pricing: $15 child $10 adult. Holiday Marketplace

Make your list, check it twice and think of the Pascagoula River Audubon Center to purchase unique, one-of-a-kind gifts this year and experience nature. Holiday Marketplace takes place during Christmas by the River. Captain Benny McCoy will also be offering 30-minute marsh tours for $10 per person between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Guests can shop new items added to the Hidden Heron Gift shop, but other vendors will be on hand as well for your shopping needs. Ruth Kimbrough will be on hand with some of her newest watercolor art pieces, and Josh Little will have a variety of stained glass pieces for sale. Wanda Norton will have wreaths and topiaries, among other things, and Crazy A’s Pottery will have items available as well.

As an added bonus, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Don Smith and Larry Leake will be providing Christmas tunes and the big guy in the red suit will be available for Selfies with Santa from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Boy Scout Hut. A special holiday house for children will also be open featuring inexpensive items to purchase for family members along with complimentary gift wrapping. Glass-blowing demonstrations by Solange Ledwith will take place in the picnic area of the Center creating Christmas ornaments.

Ride on Biloxi Schooner in Christmas on Water Boat Parade

Schooner Pier Complex – Biloxi

4:30 p.m. departure

The Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum invites you to sail aboard a Biloxi Schooner for the Christmas on the Water Boat Parade.

The schooners depart the Schooner Pier Complex at 367 Beach Blvd., Biloxi at 4:30 p.m. to rendezvous with the parade lineup at Channel Marker #5 south of the Biloxi Lighthouse.

The parade starts at 6 p.m., a fireworks display will follow the end of the parade, and we will return to dock about 8:00 p.m. You are welcome to bring food and refreshments aboard. We will provide ice chests and ice. The schooners will be decorated and will have Christmas music on board. Tickets may be purchased by calling 228 435-6320 Monday-Saturday.  Tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis.

33 Days of Christmas – Lynn Meadows Discovery Center

Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum – Gulfport

Join Lynn Meadows Discovery Center & WINGS Performing Arts WINGS group will be singing songs from the upcoming show Disney’s Frozen JR along with some Christmas carols. (Performance will be at 6) Come out and see us and make a snow flake! Each child attending will get a free pass to LMDC!

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is a nationally recognized children’s museum located in Gulfport and offers 15,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits & 7.5 oak-covered acres that encourage fun, learning and creativity. The award-winning WINGS Performing Arts program nurtures the talent and spirit of young people through the arts, community service and leadership. The WINGS production Disney’s Frozen JR will be December 13-15 at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center WINGS Performing Arts & Education Center.

The Nutcracker presented by MS Gulf Coast Ballet Theatre

Story written in 1816 by German author E.T.A. Hoffmann, in which young Marie Stahlbaum’s favorite Christmas toy, the Nutcracker, comes alive and, after defeating the evil Mouse King in battle, whisks her away to a magical kingdom populated by dolls. In 1892, the Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov turned Alexandre Dumas père’s adaptation of the story into the ballet The Nutcracker.

Christmas on The Bayou

Bayou Bernard – Gulfport

The festivities start at 6 p.m.

Lighted boat parade down Bayou Bernard. The Parade begins in Gulfport Lake, down Bayou Bernard to the conclusion at the mouth of the Bayou at Big Lake. Not only do the boats participate in the lighted parade but the waterfront houses also compete to be named the Parade Captain’s Best House on the Bayou and serve as parade judges. This is the only waterfront parade in Gulfport and offers an up close and personal view of the boats with public viewing at three Gulfport boat launches/parks, and several waterfront restaurants.

International Christmas Festival & Pastry Sale

Enjoy the cultural and entertainment program, taste delicious foods, and buy gifts for your friends and family. Experience the pleasures of life and cuisine of Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Germany, Hungary, Belarus, and America.
The Greek Musician Nick Trivelas will play the Greek bouzouki, his daughter Megan Jensen from the Greek Band the “Aegeans” will be on keyboard and sing. Megan will also sing the songs from “Mama Mia” made popular from the hit movies as well as the play from the Mary O’Keefe Cultural Center this past year.
There will be three spirited performances by the Victory Belles of the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, as well as the spirited choreography by the Fesebi Dance Ensemble from New York City.
Also feature are the Kefi Dancers from Birmingham, AL, the Gulf Coast Hellenic Dancers and the Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. And, making her singing debut is 14 yr old Ukrainian singing sensation Polina.

Available for purchase during the outdoor Festival will be a variety of specialty ethnic food items from many of these countries. Included are Greek olive oil, halva, olives, jellies, candies, oregano, spices, cheeses, tea, and coffee. Also for sale are Russian caviar, buckwheat, Kvas, chocolates, fruit preserves, bread and other delicacies. Many countries are also represented in the gift area: nesting dolls, jewelry, incense and charcoal, dining supplies, CDs, and icons. Vendors will have their booths set up with their creative items for sale; such as, paintings, signs, jewelry, books, soaps, and handmade crafts.

Christmas on the Avenue

Bring the whole family to shop, eat, or just sit and relax as arts and craft vendors gather on the Harper McCaughan Town Green to kick off the Christmas season. Enjoy live music performances, food booths and much more. Eat a pancake breakfast with Santa, and feed the “reindeer” And don’t leave without taking a memorable photo with Santa. Hosted by the Long Beach Concert Choir Association.

King’s Christmas Display

There will be complimentary coffee inside for the adults and a nice warm fire inside. Please make yourself at home. Come inside and see the Christmas Tree and see if you can find the singing birds. Feel free to sit at the piano and play a tune. Sign the register located on the front porch.

Santa will visit on December 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd. Santa will bring his bag of candy canes for all young at heart.

There is a large circular drive, with plenty of parking. A lit sign marks the drive. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The King family invite you and your family to visit for the holidays, as we bring this tradition back for all friends, new and old to enjoy.

Our gallant boys in grey will be joined by their brothers in blue to come around the campfire and share in the Christmas spirit. They will reminisce of Christmastimes past and enjoy the companies of their brethren during the holiday. Beauvoir will also be hosting a Holiday Social in the Presidential Library.

Dickens of a Christmas Dinner – A Traditional English Style Feast

Let the magic of this heartwarming evening enchant you this holiday season. Invite your entire family and friends to an evening filled with delectable food, holiday spirits, and Victorian character interaction throughout the mansion and during dinner.
