Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Diaper Drive
January 3 - January 31 In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., United Way of South Mississippi and Walmart Supercenters are holding the 6th annual Diaper Drive. Diapers of all sizes will be distributed to local agencies in the communities where they are donated. Diapers of all sizes in unopened packages are needed! Sizes 4-7 are the most needed sizes. Diapers will be collected at the Walmart Supercenters in Gulfport, D'Iberville, Biloxi, Pass Christian, Waveland, Wiggins and Picayune from January 3 through January 31. You may purchase diapers at Walmart or the store of your choice and place them in the bins at one of the Walmart Supercenters listed above or at United Way of South Mississippi's office, located at 11975 Seaway Rd, Suite B170, Gulfport, MS. Last year, people in South Mississippi donated over 8,000 diapers, which were distributed to local agencies and programs. For more information, please contact Kellee Caldwell at firstname.lastname@example.org Did you know: • Low-income families can't use assistance funds, such as food stamps/EBT cards to purchase diapers. • A lack of diapers can affect a child's health, causing rashes and infections. • Many childcare centers require parents to supply diapers for their children.
