Housed inside the US Freedom Pavilion at the National WW II Museum in New Orleans, La. are seven mega-artifacts that played a pivotal part in the United States and Allies victory in WW II. Suspended from the ceiling in action poses you’ll see a North American B-25 Mitchell, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, a General Motors TBM Avenger, a Chance Vought F4U Corsair, a Douglas SBD Dauntless and a North American Aviation P-51 Mustang.
Senior Historian, Dr. Rob Citino welcomed WLOX Gulf Coast Weekend and shared with us his reasons on why someone should visit this fascinating museum. The world we’re living in today was formed as the result of WW II – thanks in large part to the iconic warbirds inside the US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center.
