Boat owners along the Mississippi Gulf Coast have a hidden harbor for when tropical weather systems threaten the area. The spot is called Hurricane Hole and there is no telling how many boat owners owe it gratitude for providing safe harbor.
During Hurricane Katrina alone more than 200 boats were moored inside Hurricane Hole. None of them sunk.
The types of boats tucked inside the semi-secret location vary from luxury and charter to recreational and liveaboards. They all tie up and ride the storm out together.
