Usher to headline ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Usher has been announced as a headliner for this year’s Essence Festival in New Orleans, celebrating its 30th anniversary. The R&B superstar will perform to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his acclaimed album, “Confessions.”

The announcement came earlier this evening as Essence revealed its list of performers for the summer event. Usher, fresh off a successful Las Vegas residency and a memorable performance at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show, is expected to be a major draw for festival-goers.

The festival will also feature other prominent artists, including New Orleans native Birdman, who will mark 30 years of Cash Money Millionaires.
