BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - On Friday, lowriders, monster trucks, and cars of all shapes and sizes filled the Coast Coliseum as hundreds of car enthusiasts filled the building for Scrapin the Coast.

“We’ve been all around the country, anywhere from Florida to Las Vegas, going to car shows and everything,” said shop owner Kennedy Brown.

Brown owns Fenix Forged, which opened its doors in 2022. This is Brown’s first Scrapin event, and it all happened thanks to some fortunate connections.

“I’m great friends with Lauren Miller and we’ve been trying to come out here for years now, and it finally lined up where we can show up and represent,” explains Brown. “We can come out and have a great time.”

Although it’s his first time at the event, Brown quickly managed to find familiar faces among a new crowd, reminding him that Fenix Forged isn’t just a job — it’s a way of life.

“We like to think of the company as one big family, especially without customers and stuff,” he said. “We really love when they get to come out with us, support us, and get to come hang out and have a good time because that’s what it’s all about.

A wide variety of cars has Brown already looking forward to next year’s event.

“You have everything from lifted trucks to monster trucks to side-by-sides, lowered trucks, and lowered cars,” said Brown. “You just get it all where some of them have all that, but it’s more lifted and more lowered cars. This is just everything and that’s what sets this apart so far . . . So far, it’s been a great show and all the show hosts have been nothing but awesome and super nice, so we’ll definitely be back next year.”

The show picks back up on Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
