GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - A Coast landmark will soon have a new identity.
The old Triplett-Day building in downtown Gulfport is now set to be turned into a restaurant.
Accomplished Hattiesburg restaurant owner Robert St. John is making plans to create a breakfast and lunch eatery called The Downtowner.
The building’s owner says the inside of the old drugstore needs to be reconfigured. Construction is expected to start around the first of the year.
The target timeline for opening is next year’s Cruisin’ the Coast.
