BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Monday, November 11 is Veterans Day, and there is no shortage of events, celebrations, and freebies happening across the Coast! Here‘s a list of what’s going on:

Friday, November 8

GULFPORT: Homeless Veterans Support Event, hosted by Feed My Sheep and Lamar Powell Family Scholarship, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Feed My Sheep (2615 19th Street)
GULFPORT: Veterans Day Open House, gates open from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., ceremony at 10 a.m., Armed Forces Retirement Home (1800 Beach Drive)
PASS CHRISTIAN: 249th Marine Corps Birthday hosted by the Gulf Coast Veterans Association, 6 p.m. at Pass Cigars (124 Davis Ave.)

Saturday, November 9

GULFPORT: Veterans and spouses receive free admission at the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum (429 Pass Road)
DIAMONDHEAD: Veterans Day Parade, 3 p.m. from Diamondhead Club House to City Hall
PASS CHRISTIAN: 2nd Annual Veterans Day Parade, hosted by the Gulf Coast Veterans Association, 11 a.m. in downtown Pass Christian
PASS CHRISTIAN: 5K Run & Walk hosted by the Gulf Coast Veterans Association at War Memorial Park, 8 a.m.

Sunday, November 10

BILOXI: Veterans Day Celebration Concert, the Music and Fine Arts Ministry of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral 2024-2025 Concert Series presents The Gulf Coast Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Kyle Brookins, 2 p.m., Nativity BVM Cathedral (870 Howard Avenue)
OCEAN SPRINGS: Veterans Sunday Service, 10 a.m., Grace Baptist Church (3707 Bienville Boulevard)

Monday, November 11

BILOXI: Veterans Day Breakfast/Brunch hosted by American Legion Joe Graham Post #119, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., breakfast/brunch will be served to all veterans and their guests
GAUTIER: Laying of the Wreath Ceremony hosted by American Legion Post 1992, Veterans Tribute Tower, 11 a.m.
GULFPORT: Veterans Day Party hosted by The Bearded Owl Barbershop, shop will have flash designs to choose from and specials on haircuts and drinks. 20% of all money raised will be donated to mission22.
LONG BEACH: Veterans Day Celebration presented by Coast Cares Foundation, Coastal Daiquiri Bar & Grill, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., free food for veterans
MOSS POINT: 25th Anniversary of Jackson Veterans Day Celebration presented by Rotary Club of Moss Point and Moss Point Main Street, RELOCATED to Pelican Landing due to rain, 11 a.m.

FREEBIES

All freebies listed below run on Monday, November 11, unless noted otherwise:

Applebee’s: Veterans and active-duty military personnel get a free meal from a select menu at participating locations. Dine-in only.
Buffalo Wild Wings: Veterans and active-duty service members get 10 free boneless wings and fries with a valid ID.
Chicken Salad Chick: Veterans and active-duty service members receive a free meal at all locations.
Chili’s: Veterans and active-duty service members get a free meal with a valid ID. Available in-restaurant only for select items.
Denny’s: Veterans and active-duty service members receive a free Original Grand Slam with a valid ID or code DD214.
Dunkin’: Active and retired military get one free donut from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Finishline Performance Karting: Veterans and active duty personnel are invited for one free race at FPK in Biloxi on Veteran’s Day.
Golden Corral: The restaurant is hosting its Military Appreciation Night from 4 p.m. to close. This includes a free “thank you” buffet and drink when dining in.
Hard Rock Cafe: Active-duty service members and veterans get a complimentary Legendary Burger. Friends and family accompanying veterans will also receive a 15% discount.
Hooters: Retired and active-duty military who purchase a drink may order one free meal from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu. This offer is only valid for dine-in.
IHOP: Veterans and active-duty service members get a free Red, White, and Blueberry Pancake Combo from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Little Caesars: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a complimentary Lunch Combo, which includes four slices of Little Caesars signature Detroit-style Deep Dish pizza and a 20-ounce drink.
Logan’s Roadhouse: Veterans and active-duty military personnel get a free meal with a valid ID from a special menu at participating locations. This offer is available for dine-in only from 11 am – 3 pm.
Mississippi Aquarium: Veterans and active duty service members will receive free admission Friday, November 8 through Monday, November 11 with proof of service. Accompanying family members will receive $5 off general admission.
Olive Garden: To thank members of the military, Olive Garden is offering a complimentary entree from a special menu.
Outback Steakhouse: Active-duty military and veterans get a free Bloomin’ Onion and drink with the purchase of an entree in-restaurant.
Slim Chickens: At the Cedar Lake Biloxi location, veterans can enjoy 50% off their meal on Veterans Day.
Starbucks: Starbucks is honoring veterans and active-duty military with a free tall (12-ounce) brewed coffee.
Texas Roadhouse: Active-duty military and veterans can dine in or receive a meal voucher from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a valid ID. These vouchers are good for dine-in or carry-out at a later time. Vouchers will be good until May 30, 2025. If you choose to dine in on November 11, there will be a specific menu to select from.
Twin Peaks: Veterans and active-duty service members get a free lunch from a select menu from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Whataburger: Veterans and active-duty military members in uniform or with a valid ID get a free 16-ounce hot or iced coffee.
