BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - You could feel the carnival fever all over Biloxi on Fat Tuesday when the Gulf Coast Carnival Association Parade rolled through the downtown area.
The parade attracted people from different walks of life, and Houston resident Hannah Darling wanted one particular throw.
“I have a Jeep so I’m really trying to catch some ducks because you know they put the ducks in the Jeeps,” Darling said.
Tuesday was Darling’s first Mardi Gras. She’s heard stories about it, and she finally got the full experience.
“I was like, ‘I don’t know what Mardi Gras is all about. I don’t get it. I don’t understand it, y’all just throwing beads but it’s a lot more than that,’” she said.

Karsyn Mallett, a first-time rider, got to cherish the moment with family.
“You know, seeing all my friends in the crowd and just experiencing this parade, just riding in it,” Mallett said. “I think everyone should get to experience Mardi Gras because it’s so fun.”
