GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - Hippie Fish, a new family entertainment center, opened in Gulfport on Thursday, June 26.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 10 a.m. to celebrate the new addition to the Centennial Plaza Resort.
“It has been a labor of love,” said Centennial Plaza General Manager Randy Fanugao. “It is emotional, we have put a lot of effort into it. My team has done a great job, and we are ecstatic about this happening.”
Hippie Fish includes an arcade, mini golf, and a full-service restaurant.
The two-story arcade has over 130 games, and both golf courses feature 18 holes.

Tessy Lambert, the Chief Marketing Officer of Lodging & Leisure Investments, explained where the unique name of the new venue came from.
“We were looking for something that was a little coastal, a little nostalgic, and a lot exciting, and Hippie Fish was born,” said Lambert.

Hippie Fish also created 60 new jobs.
“We’re proud to be adding meaningful opportunities to the local workforce while building something fun and lasting for the community,” said Lambert.
The new family entertainment center is open to the public.

Hippie Fish is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
