LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) - The 16th annual Taste of Long Beach festival was held at the Harper McCaughan Town Green on Thursday night.
The event featured some of the best local eats.
More than 60 local restaurants served delicious dishes to over 1,000 people in attendance.

The Long Beach Chamber of Commerce said the yearly festival helps support the local food industry.
“Restaurants are one of the hardest industries to be in, and this is an opportunity for them to showcase what they have to offer to everybody,” said Anna Claire Perronne, Director of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce.

“Every penny we make from this event goes right back into these businesses. We give out small business grants. Last year, we gave out $20,000. This year, we want to double it.”

Funds raised also go to scholarships for local high school students.
The festival was previously held at the Senior Center, but outgrew the venue and relocated to the Town Green.
