OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - Downtown Ocean Springs is filled with the sound of engines revving, oldies music drifting through the air, and crowds of smiling faces as Cruisin’ the Coast 2025 kicks into high gear.

Classic cars line the streets beneath the city’s iconic oak trees, creating a picture-perfect scene that locals and visitors look forward to all year long.

Cruisers rolled in bright and early, some as early as 12:45 a.m., just to claim their favorite spots downtown. For many, this stop along the Coast is one of the most anticipated of the week.

Georgia resident David Baskette says it’s not just about the cars, it’s about the memories they carry.

“I do love this truck, I like the way it drives I like the nostalgia, I like to be able to get in it and go,” Baskette said. “It’s not just my smiles. It’s the smiles it brings to everyone else as well.”

Ocean Springs resident Harmon Crimm says there’s something about the town’s charm that makes it stand out.

“The ambience and the history, and the real beautiful great feeling that comes with when you’re here in Ocean Springs, it’s a favorite for the cruisers,” Crimm said. “I’m kind of thinking it’s the top favorite for cruisers, at least I’m claiming that.”

And it’s not just locals who agree. The Evans family from Mobile made the trip just for the Ocean Springs stop.

“It’s the best stop,” they said. “We love it!”

From the music to the memories, the event is as much about community as it is about cars.
