OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - Three life-sized giraffe sculptures have been installed at Marshall Park in downtown Ocean Springs.
Artist Adelle Harvey collaborated with craftsman Bryan Milling to create the installation featuring three giraffes named Georgie, Gregory, and Gina, representing a family.

“I met another local artist, a craftsman Bryan Milling, and we just kind of put our heads together and we’re like, ‘You know, let’s make some big giraffes and throw them in the park,’” Harvey said.
The sculptures were constructed from PVC, then painted and mounted with support structures.
“I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback from people messaging me saying how much they like them,” said Harvey.

Harvey said the giraffe theme holds personal significance, as she was nicknamed “baby giraffe” due to her height.
“The whole point is just to bring joy and some whimsy and fun to the park,” Harvey said. “It’s awesome to sit across from them while I work and see that they’re over there and see that people really love them.”
The giraffes are designed to be temporary installations that will appear in different spots around Ocean Springs.
