PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WLOX) - The Pass Christian Firefighter’s Association will host the 40th annual Christmas in the Pass celebration on Friday, December 5.
The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m. and features a parade beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the city Christmas tree lighting at the pavilion on Davis Street.
Santa will arrive via the fire department and later move to the annex building for photos with children.
The celebration typically draws 6,000 to 7,000 people.

“My favorite part is just seeing all the citizens being able to come downtown and just enjoy themselves,” said Andy Purchner, Pass Christian fire captain and president of the association. “There’s something for adults, children, something for everybody.”
Roads will begin closing at 1 p.m. with limited access, then close completely at 3:30 p.m. and remain closed until 9 p.m. that night.
Officials recommend parking on Fleitas Avenue or in the harbor area. Police officers will direct traffic on Highway 90 to help pedestrians cross safely, and the TrainTastic Train Museum will provide shuttle service to Scenic Drive.
Although this is the event’s 40th year, it is only the fourth year under the leadership of the Pass Christian Firefighter’s Association.
The association is a nonprofit organization comprised of full-time and retired firefighters. The group raises money throughout the year for things like storm relief victims and department training efforts.
