BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Decorated boats lit up the Mississippi Sound on Sunday as the Christmas on the Water parade returned for its 40th year.
Boats decked out in holiday lights paraded from the Biloxi Lighthouse to the Point Cadet area, continuing a long-standing tradition on the Mississippi coast.

The event draws big crowds, including many families who have made the parade part of their holiday memories for decades.
Thomas White William brought his child to experience the tradition for the first time.
“He had his first Christmas parade today, now he’s at his first Christmas on the Water. He had a blast,” said William.

The parade finished with a fireworks display.
The event was originally scheduled for Saturday but was delayed until Sunday due to rain.
