‘A Christmas Story: The Musical’ opens at Beau Rivage Theater

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - “A Christmas Story: The Musical” opened Friday, December 12, at the Beau Rivage Theater in Biloxi, featuring local cast members and songs based on the Christmas movie classic.

Charlie, who plays the main character Ralphie, said this is his first professional show.

“Doing ‘A Christmas Story: The Musical’ is a phenomenal show,” Charlie said. “I think the best part about doing this show is seeing all the different characters come to life in different ways that different people make them.”

Charlie said his castmates bring extensive acting experience to the production.

“Everyone here is very experienced in the acting world,” Charlie said. “It’s great that I can learn from them and learn new ways on how to be better at acting and be a better person in general.”

Charlie said one of his favorite parts is wearing the bunny suit.

“It’s actually really comfy on stage, so it is not as bad as you think, but I absolutely love it,” he said. “It’s like a little comfy moment in the show.”

Charlie said he has watched the original movie multiple times and called it “phenomenal.” He said the musical adaptation brings the movie to life by adding some movie elements to the musical format.

Based on the classic movie, this musical captures holiday wonder with funny and heartfelt songs. (WLOX)

Nightly performances of “A Christmas Story: The Musical” will be held from December 12 to 27, excluding December 15 and 22.
