NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Allstate Sugar Bowl will provide multiple opportunities for fans from Georgia and Mississippi as well as locals and visitors to celebrate New Year’s Eve in New Orleans.
The official Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year’s Parade presented by Louisiana Tourism will begin at 2 p.m. in the French Quarter. The Mardi Gras-style parade with floats, bands and other participants will start at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street.
Parade route through historic landmarks
The parade will travel through the French Quarter up Decatur Street along the Mississippi River, passing iconic landmarks including The Old US Mint, the French Market, Cafe du Monde and Jackson Square. The parade will end at Canal Street.
The Redcoat Band from Georgia and The Pride of the South from Ole Miss will participate in the parade. The Pride of the South is celebrating its largest marching band since its creation in 1928.
Sugar Bowl Fest after-party
The Allstate Sugar Bowl Fest after-party will take place on the Audubon Aquarium Exterior Plaza at 1 Canal Street. The family-friendly event will feature live music, a Ferris wheel, New Orleans style food and drink for purchase, an official Sugar Bowl merchandise shop and other activities. Gates open at 3 p.m. after the parade ends.

New Year’s Eve fireworks show
The Sugar Bowl sponsors the NOLA New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show, produced by the Crescent City Countdown Club in partnership with the New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund. The fireworks show will follow a free New Year’s Eve concert that begins at 9 p.m. in Woldenberg Park.
The fireworks display can be seen along the historic New Orleans Riverfront in downtown New Orleans on the East Bank of the Mississippi River, from Canal Street to Esplanade Avenue, and on the West Bank. At midnight, the fireworks will include the team colors of Georgia and Ole Miss.
Broadcast information
The 92nd Allstate Sugar Bowl, serving as a College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, will feature No. 3 Georgia and No. 6 Ole Miss. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Central on Thursday, January 1, in the Caesars Superdome and will be televised by ESPN.
