BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - The 9th annual Dolly Should celebration will take place Saturday in Bay St. Louis. The all-day event includes multiple contests and happenings all over Old Town to honor Dolly Parton’s 80th birthday.

The event begins with a 9-5K run hosted by the Bay St. Louis Running Club. About 200 participants dressed as Dolly Parton have already registered for the race, according to Alicein Schwabacher, owner of Mockingbird Cafe.
“We’ve been celebrating her for nine years,” Schwabacher said. “We want you to come celebrate with us for her 80th birthday.”
After the morning race, Second Street Salon will offer the Dolly Beauty Shoppe to help participants prepare for the day’s events. Live music will continue throughout the day at Mockingbird Cafe, featuring the Tyrone Benoit Band and DJ Doug Funnie.

A highest hair contest will take place at 5 p.m. at The Shops at Century Hall, followed by the Dolly look-alike contest at 7 p.m. at Mockingbird Cafe. The main event requires a $10 fee, with proceeds benefiting the Food Bank of Hancock County.
