BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Biloxi Little Theatre will present “Trouble in Mind” this weekend and next weekend, featuring a cast of eight actors in a production that explores racial tension through a play-within-a-play format.
The production is set in the 1950s and follows characters working on a play they hope to take to Broadway. Tim Pulver, who plays Henry, said the story focuses on different characters and shows the personal growth they experience in the process.
“It’s basically a production of a play they hope to put on Broadway,” Pulver said. “A lot of the pleasure of the play is in all the different characters that hope to reach Broadway.”
The play-within-a-play format creates additional challenges for the cast. Michelle Ramsey, who plays Wiletta, must portray both her character and the character Wiletta plays, named Ruby.
“It’s an amazing play. It’s one to definitely be seen,” Ramsey said.

One performance was held on Friday night. Additional performances will take place on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25. Three more performances are scheduled for January 30, January 31 and February 1.
