MOSS POINT, Miss. (WLOX) - Moss Point graduate Daniel Stallworth earned a golden ticket to Hollywood Week during Monday night’s American Idol episode.

Stallworth advanced after performing Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” for the judges. The performance impressed the judging panel and secured his spot in the next round of competition.

The advancement comes less than a year after Meridian’s Jamal Roberts won American Idol, making Stallworth another Mississippian to make significant progress in the singing competition recently.

15-year-old Tate Emmons from Lake, Mississippi, also performed in front of the judges on Monday night, but did not advance to Hollywood Week.

Hollywood Week episodes have already been filmed but will not air until next month. Viewers will be able to watch Stallworth’s Hollywood Week performance on WLOX ABC.
