BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - The building that housed Burger Burger for 98 years has new owners, a new name, and a new menu.
Ole Biloxi Cafe opened on Monday morning at 1039 Howard Avenue in the same building where Burger Burger served the Coast for decades. The beloved burger joint closed in 2025 after the owner retired.
After months of sitting empty, a new “open” sign now flashes in the window. Inside, the Redwine family is cooking up a fresh start and writing a new chapter for the family business.
“We love it, my children love it. I have a big family, and this is a real family business. We’re just passing it on to them,” said David Redwine, Ole Biloxi Cafe co-owner.
David and Tina Redwine started with a bakery in 1996. Now they serve soul food and seafood. This is their third restaurant in the state and the second one on the Coast.

“We season to Grandma’s taste,” said Tina.
The cooks make everything in-house, and the menu offers dozens of choices from breakfast to lunch.
Tammy Harrell works nearby and came for opening day.
“Our office is just right across the street, so I was a little bummed when Burger Burger closed,” Harrell said. “I used to love coming here to eat and the daily specials, so when I heard they were opening up, I’ve been waiting.”
The morning started slowly, but just before lunch, more customers started coming in.

“I’m a little anxious, but I feel good. It’s been a good morning so far,” David said.
The owners said they are grateful to continue the building’s restaurant legacy.
“They had big history, a lot of nostalgia right here in this building,” David said.
The Howard Avenue location is open 7 a.m to 3 p.m., Monday through Sunday. The hours could change at their discretion.
The Redwines opened Pope Country Cafe, their first location in Panola County, in 2014. The second location, Biloxi Country Cafe, opened on Lemoyne Boulevard in Biloxi in 2023.
