BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — Biloxi Main Street will receive funding to hold a Fourth of July event celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

On Wednesday, America250 and the Mississippi Humanities Council announced the latest round of program and mini grants awarded through the America250 Mississippi Grants Program.

The event, called “Red, White & Biloxi: An America250 Celebration,” will be a free, public celebration of America250 held on July 4, 2026, at Biloxi Town Green. Events will include a patriotic musical performance, a show band and a play depicting Biloxi’s history, stressing the theme of resilience.

Biloxi Downtown Services manager Kay Miller said the city has applied for another grant as well.

In the Pine Belt, Visit Hattiesburg received funding to hold a celebration called “Swinging the Stars & Stripes: An All-American Night of Jazz, Soul and Patriotism.”

That event will be a free outdoor concert in Hattiesburg to celebrate by reimagining patriotic classics through Mississippi’s signature musical traditions of jazz, blues, gospel and soul.

America250 Mississippi grants are available to Mississippi-based nonprofits, educational organizations and local government organizations in support of educational and commemorative programming focused on the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
