BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - The Mystic Krewe of Seahorse will roll through Bay St. Louis Monday night for the 11th annual Lundi Gras parade, featuring decorated golf carts.
The parade is the only Lundi Gras parade on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Captain Longbeard VI Chad Barnett and Lady Claiborne VI Tracey Gonzales Downey said the krewe goes all out for the annual event.
“It’s very special. We look forward to this parade every year,” Gonzales Downey said.
This year’s theme is Band of Pirates. Barnett said the theme reflects both his and Gonzales Downey’s involvement in music.

“Tracey and I are both musicians. We play in a local band called Assumed Risk,” Barnett said. “So music is important to us, as well as being pirates. So we are able to incorporate both of them into this awesome event.”

Barnett said the golf cart format of the parade, which runs through Bay St. Louis, allows for close interactions between participants and spectators.
“Every year it gets bigger and better, and the interest is always just fantastic,” Barnett said.
Anyone with a golf cart or marching groups can register online to participate in the parade. Participants must provide their own beads and throws.
The krewe will judge the best overall golf cart and best costume, with prizes awarded to the winners.
