D’IBERVILLE/ST. MARTIN, Miss. (WLOX) - The North Bay Area Mardi Gras Association parade hit the streets on Sunday afternoon, bringing carnival spirit across portions of Jackson and Harrison counties.

Seventy-four floats stretched along the parade route as the D’Iberville and St. Martin communities lined the streets, hoping to catch unique throws.

For families in attendance, the parade offered time together and the chance to collect memorable items.

“To have a good time, right, buddy?” said Samantha Bishop to her son, Dawson, who was looking forward to catching beads. The young paradegoer said he had attended many parades previously and found them “fun.” When asked about the coolest thing he had caught, Dawson said a hula hoop.

Grand Marshal Keith Wilson led the 36th annual parade.
