BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - The third annual Krewe of PAWseidon parade rolled through the Depot District in Bay St. Louis on Sunday, drawing nearly 40 dogs dressed in costumes, with some even riding on floats.

Dog owners tossed beads, Moon Pies, and other throws during the parade to maintain the traditional Mardi Gras feel.

Attendees were also able to interact with the dogs as they passed by during the event.

“Pets are our family too. They aren’t just something we go home to, they are our family,” said Jeanelle Sonnier, co-founder of the PAWrade. “It’s a good way to incorporate our furry families into Mardi Gras and let them have some of the fun.”

Event organizers said the number of dogs participating this year was nearly double that of the inaugural parade.
