BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - The Alice Moseley Folk Art Museum has a new temporary location after moving out of the Bay St. Louis Depot in December.
The works of the late Alice Moseley, a painter who is considered one of America’s great creators of folk art, are now on display in the old Clay Creations building at the corner of Main Street and Toulme Street.

Local art enthusiast Mamie Hillery owns the property and said she welcomed the opportunity to host the museum.
“When I had the opportunity to be a part of helping Alice find a new home, I was like absolutely,” Hillery said. “They’re going to be here about a year until they can get a permanent home.”
Holly Coia with the Alice Moseley Folk Art Museum said the museum drew strong interest at its previous location.

“Everyone loves this museum,” Coia said. “We got such positive feedback when we were in the depot location. We had so many tourists, and so many locals would bring their house guests in to see the work of Alice Moseley.”

The museum’s temporary location will hold a soft opening on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The new address is 105 South Toulme Street. New hours will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
