HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - The Hub City Humane Society collaborated with Hattiesburg Hot Yoga on Sunday, March 15, for “Puppy Yoga.”
It was a 45-minute yoga session, and it ended with 15 minutes of playtime with the pups.
Members of HHY say this event was not only beneficial for people but for the puppies as well.
“The puppies get a little bit of extra enrichment time and love. They’re all up for adoption, so we hope they can get adopted today,” said HHY owner Emmalee Bolton.
“It’s great for people because for a lot of people, this is their first and only yoga experience, so it’s a good way to kind of introduce people into that fitness world.”

HCHS is a nonprofit organization, and members say they rely on the community’s help for donations and the purchasing of pet essentials like food, puppy pads and anything else they may need.
The puppies are up for adoption, and events like this one are created to give them more exposure in the community in hopes of finding them a brand new home.
“Our mission at Hub City Humane Society, we hope to be the home for animal welfare in the Pine Belt,” said HCHS Event Coordinator Gaven Wallace.
“We not only want to provide homes to homeless animals, but mistreated animals as well. We want to find forever homes for every animal that needs one.”
This is HHY’s 3rd Puppy Yoga event. They say each one has sold out so far, and they plan to do another one soon. Those wanting to attend the next Puppy Yoda can check the HCHS or HHY Facebook pages.
