Moss Point’s Daniel Stallworth encourages fans to vote on ‘American Idol’

MOSS POINT, Miss. (WLOX) - Daniel Stallworth, a music teacher from Moss Point, has advanced to the Top 20 round of “American Idol” and is asking viewers to vote to keep him in the competition.

Stallworth said the experience has been positive as he moves further into the competition.

“It’s been wonderful. I can’t complain. It’s very joyful. I’m super excited for what’s to come,” Stallworth said.

Stallworth said his work teaching music has helped shape his approach to the competition.

“It feels wonderful to be able to teach the kids and to get them to understand that, hey, you can’t stop believing. You’ve got to keep pushing,” Stallworth said. “I always do well, as long as you keep believing in yourself.”

He also said the response from the Moss Point community has been supportive.

“They have my back, and they’re super excited, just like I am. So, it feels good to have them alongside me,” Stallworth said.

Stallworth is scheduled to perform in the next episode of “American Idol,” airing Monday night at 7 p.m. on WLOX ABC. Viewers will now help determine the contestants’ fate in the first round of public voting.
