OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - The 12th annual Feed the Need Music Fest and Fish Fry is scheduled for Sunday at Government Street Grocery in downtown Ocean Springs.
The event benefits The Lord Is My Help, which serves the hungry in Jackson County. Last year, the fundraiser raised enough money to serve over 11,000 meals, about four months’ worth for the organization.
“This is an amazing event, and our community really comes out for it,” said Susannah Snyder, board president of The Lord Is My Help. “We serve over 3,000 meals a month. So it really helps a lot of people, and it comes at a really good time of year where we need the help.”
The Lord Is My Help serves the hungry in Jackson County through “Meals on Wheels” delivery service to the homebound, a food pantry for emergency groceries for families, and hot lunches served in-house daily.
The event will feature live music from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a Grateful Dead theme. Performers include the Terrapins, a Grateful Dead cover band, Cary Hudson, Biloxi Bacon, and Kat Miller Band.

“It’s a really fun, family-friendly event. It’s all day long,” Snyder said.
The event will include a kids’ section with face painting, raffle baskets, and pet adoptions.
Fried fish and fried shrimp will be served at the event.
Tickets are available online or at the door.
