MOSS POINT, Miss. (WLOX) — Moss Point native Daniel Stallworth is one step closer to stardom after advancing to the Top 9 on American Idol.
During Monday night’s episode, the Top 11 contestants took the stage for the show’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, with viewers voting to determine who would move forward. By the end of the night, the competition was narrowed down to the Top 9.
For his performance, Stallworth sang “Livin’ On A Prayer” by Bon Jovi, earning praise from the judges.

“That was awesome,” country star and American Idol judge Carrie Underwood said.
Judge Luke Bryan encouraged Stallworth to lean into his authenticity, telling him the performance felt true to who he is and urging him to keep connecting with the crowd, adding that he “smiled the whole time” and that Stallworth “has the magic.”
