PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WLOX) — At least 2,000 people attended Jazz in the Pass at War Memorial Park on Sunday despite threats of rain.
Three bands from Louisiana performed at the free event.

Joe Piernas, Jazz in the Pass chairman and a former alderman, said the event started in 1999 and ran until Hurricane Katrina. After a seven-year absence, Piernas helped bring it back.
“I was an Alderman at the time, and people were saying, hey, can we bring Jazz back?” Piernas said. “I talked to a few people, and they were like, yeah, let’s do it. So here we are, still rockin’ and rolling. It seems like it’s getting bigger every year.”
The event ended with a fireworks display.
