LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) — One of the largest Jeep events in the country is happening in South Mississippi this week.
Jeepin the Coast begins Wednesday, and organizers expect between 2,500 and 3,000 registered Jeepers. That number is higher than last year, when registration totals were in the low 2,000s.
The event allows families to see customized Jeeps with modifications ranging from lifted suspensions and new tires to sound systems and lights.
“I love it. I absolutely love it,” said event organizer Jennifer Moran.
The event has grown from a one-day ride in 2011 into a multi-day event.

“It’s pretty amazing. I mean to hear some of our vendors even talk about our shows around the country that they travel to, it’s pretty cool,” Moran said.
The event begins on Wednesday in Pass Christian in front of Bacchus on the Beach. A band and other activities are planned that night.
From Thursday to Sunday, the event moves to Long Beach. Activities include live music, fireworks, and a scavenger hunt game for kids.
“It’s just something about our event whenever the families come, and you just get to see your old friends. And the Jeep family, it’s just a different breed of people,” Moran said.
You will also likely see rubber ducks on the dashboards of most Jeeps.

The popular trend started back in 2020 with Allison Parliament in Ontario giving a Jeep owner a rubber duck as a random act of kindness. It now serves as a way for Jeep owners to grow as a community and say they like each other’s Jeeps.
“Just seeing all the ducks, and being creative with where the people place those. It’s just crazy,” Moran said.
The event also includes a Jeep giveaway on Saturday night. Money raised from the raffle goes to Customs for a Cause, a local nonprofit charity that helps people with cancer.
