Nearly 1,000 donuts go out every day, along with hundreds more cinnamon rolls, twists and cookies.

“If it wasn’t for the people of Pascagoula and all the surrounding areas, in Jackson County, Harrison and Hancock, we wouldn’t be able to do it,” said Melissa Morales of Anderson’s Bakery.

Bonita Smith, a Pascagoula resident, said the bakery offers more than baked goods.

“They think it’s the bakery items that they sell, but it’s really the love. It’s the way they make you feel when you walk in the door. Then that scent hits you, and the rest is history. You just spend every cent you have,” Smith said.
