BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — Jordan Nicaud, a developer, opened Hotel Biloxi last week in east Biloxi.
The hotel sits at the corner of Highway 90 and Caillavet Street. Nicaud said the property offers a retro aesthetic.
“Kind of that old motel style that you would get when you were driving down the Las Vegas trip back in the 60s,” Nicaud said.

Nicaud said it took two years to build the hotel. The location puts guests near the casino and the ballpark.
“Really neat having a new amenity for the people coming to the Gulf Coast where they wanna go to the casino to the ballpark they can come and stay not just at the casino, but be able to walk to anything they want to,” Nicaud said.

George Heffker was among the first guests to check in.
“It’s such a great little place to escape. I love little cool cozy stuff like this,” Heffker said.
The building previously housed Fill-Up with Billups, a breakfast restaurant that closed in 2023.
Architect Jason Harrell said the hotel plan to add a bar to the hotel within 30 days.
“You’ll have somewhere to hang out maybe watch a sports game or grab a drink,” Harrell said.

Nicaud and Harrell presented plans to the Biloxi Development Review Committee to restore the vacant Magnolia Hotel on Rue Magnolia. The project would add 16 hotel rooms and a restaurant.

Nicaud said he is waiting on final city approval, expected within 14 days. Construction could take 18 months if approved.
“Really excited to be a part of that and excited to have the opportunity to bring back the oldest hotel in the state. Right now, I was just trying to finish the projects we have and you know make them all successful and operational and hopefully give back to the community and hopefully the community enjoys what we’re doing,” Nicaud said.
