PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) — Pascagoula will host its first Gulf Coast Pickle Fest on Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.

The event will feature about 40 vendors offering pickle-themed products, according to organizers Jess McBeth of Mississippi Mudcakes and Kat Pasley of Positive Energy.

“We are super excited to be here and promoting our first-ever annual Pickle Fest in Pascagoula,” McBeth said.

Vendors will offer a wide variety of items, including freeze-dried pickles, dill pickle scented candles, and even pickle earrings.

Mississippi Mudcakes will also offer pickle-flavored cupcakes, and Positive Energy will serve two pickle-flavored drinks.

“We have a whole lineup of vendors that are coming. Everybody’s just going to have some sort of pickle option available,” Pasley said.

Pickle Fest will also include live music and special guests.

A pickle festival in Alabama inspired the organizers to bring a similar event to South Missisisppi.

“We need to have something like that over here. It was such a great turnout, and there were so many people. Everybody loves pickles,” Pasley said.

Organizers said they hope the event becomes an annual tradition.
