BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — Shelby Dedeaux from Wiggins has been crowned the local winner of WLOX and Gray Media’s Star-Spangled Sing-Off!
Congrats to Shelby for receiving the most votes out of all participants on her rendition of the National Anthem in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
Shelby will win $5,000 and have the opportunity to perform at the Immersive Media Performing Arts Center (iMPAC) in Gulfport.
Participants were asked to upload a video to our website singing the National Anthem, a cappella. The public then voted for their favorite performance by entrants, who had to be 21 years or older and reside in Harrison, Jackson or Stone counties.
Voting for the local round closed on June 12.

Now, the stakes are even higher! Regional voting for the Star-Spangled Sing-Off officially opens Thursday, June 18, at 8 p.m. on this page.
You have through June 28 to cast your vote. Your vote will help decide who wins an all-expenses-paid trip to Nashville, Tennessee, to record a performance that will air on WLOX and all other Gray Media stations across the U.S.
The final winner will be announced on July 2.
Since 2019, WLOX has aired the National Anthem daily, refreshed most recently in 2024.
The Star-Spangled Sing-Off contest is part of Gray’s “We The People” initiative celebrating America’s 250th birthday ahead of July 4, 2026.
