BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — The historic Biloxi Saenger Theatre is open again, and the reopening celebration continues Saturday with Jazz on the Coast.
The inaugural event is the third event at the Saenger since it reopened earlier this month.
“We wanted to be a part of it with the Sanger coming back and Biloxi,” Corey Christy, one of the organizers, said.
Event promoter Doug Page with Good Earth Records said he attended a previous homecoming event at the theater.
“They put together an amazing event,” Page said. “The space is just beautiful, and the history there is really special. So we’re happy to be a part of it.”

Jazz on the Coast will feature Blackwater Brass, 16-year-old New Orleans piano phenom River Eckert, and a performance by members of Preservation Hall.
“It’s going to be a very special night of regional music, and we’re excited,” Page said.
The event will begin with a second line.
“We’re pulling out all the stops to make this a great night,” Christy said.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and music starts at 7 p.m. Tickets begin at $25 and can be purchased online.

“There’s not a bad seat in the house,” Page said. “Everywhere you’ll be in there, you’ll be able to experience the room.”
The Saenger Theatre is located at 170 Reynoir Street in Biloxi.
