WIGGINS, Miss. (WLOX) — Flint Creek Water Park in Wiggins is hosting a two-day Independence Day celebration featuring fireworks, food trucks, live music and events tied to the America 250 commemoration.

On Friday, July 3, festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a DJ and food trucks.

WLOX and Gray Media’s Star-Spangled Sing-Off contest winner Shelby Dedeaux and the Stone County High School marching band are scheduled to perform.

Fireworks are set to begin at approximately 9 p.m.

“So, just a fun time for all,” said park manager Michael Clark.

On Saturday, July 4, a beach party will be held in the park’s day use area, featuring food trucks, a DJ, and a National Guard equipment display.

The park is also marking the nation’s 250th anniversary with a visual display.

“We’ve got 40-foot stars painted all the way across our dam. Red, white, and blue, and two gold stars for 250,” said Clark.

Pat Harrison Waterway District Executive Director Dr. Danny Box said the park is currently at full capacity, with all 34 cabins, 12 bunk houses, and 158 campsites occupied for the holiday weekend.

A new campground loop called the Tallulah Campground is also under construction, with an opening expected by the end of the year. The expansion will add 26 campsites.
