BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — The Harrison County Library System wants to show you what a local library has to offer for its community.
It’s hosting a Library Lollapalooza Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Margaret Sherry branch on Popps Ferry.
The event will feature light refreshments, demonstrations of services, and more.
The Harrison County Library System is in the midst of its funding season and is using the event to remind the community why the local library is so important.
“A library is a fundamental part of democracy,” said Harrison County Library director Sarah Crisler-Ruskey. “Because no matter who you are, you can come in and you can access our services. You can get information. You can come to our programs. And I think it’s important to have shared public spaces for a healthy community, a healthy American democratic community.”

The Library Lollapalooza will also include an oversized Friends of the Library book sale. All proceeds will go back into the library system.
