PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WLOX) — The Pass Christian Parks Committee has unanimously recommended that the city’s Board of Aldermen accept a donation of artwork for the butterfly garden at War Memorial Park.
The piece, titled “Flora and Fauna,” is being donated by the Pass Christian Garden Club, which commissioned the artwork from local artist John Walrod. The committee expects it to be ready for installation before Oct. 1.
“Well, for one thing, people love John’s artwork — and we’re hoping it can be installed before the Butterfly Festival in October,” said Meg Retersdorf, a member of the Pass Christian Park Committee.
The Pass Christian Board of Aldermen will make the final vote on whether to approve the piece next Tuesday, the 18th.
