Cruisin’ the Coast closes pre-registration with nearly 9,000 signed up

So far, nearly 8,950 participants from 41 states and five countries have registered, though organizers said applications are still being counted.
More than 1,100 of those registered are first-time participants, and that number is expected to increase once on-site registration opens.
The weeklong classic car festival, which spans 12 cities across three counties, returns Oct. 4–11 with a mix of new attractions and fan favorites.

A drifting exhibition will take place October 7 at Scarlet Pearl in D’Iberville. The popular flame-throwing competition will also have a new home at the IP Casino in Biloxi.

Organizers are still seeking volunteers for both the event and the annual bag-packing party, scheduled for September 26 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. More information for interested volunteers is available online.
More than 200 volunteers packed 10,000 bags last year. This year, organizers plan to prepare 11,000 bags.
