NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Audubon Zoo’s train has returned under a new name, the Audubon Wonders of Nature Express, offering guests a narrated, scenic loop through the Zoo.
The train made its inaugural run Thursday with special guest passengers from Manning Family Children’s. Guest conductor and New Orleans musician Kermit Ruffins gave the “All Aboard” call.
The ride features a narrated loop with views of major Zoo landmarks, landscapes and animal habitats.
Daine Appleberry, senior vice president and managing director of Audubon Zoo & Park, said the return of the train has been anticipated and that the Zoo is welcoming both longtime guests and first-time visitors aboard.
The train has been a Zoo attraction for generations. Its return brings a new name, new look and new feel, though guests can still access the narrated ride throughout the day.
