BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — The Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi is gearing up for a busy fall with a lineup of concerts and family entertainment, according to Executive Director Sam Voisin.

Voisin said Lil Wayne’s show last week sold out and ranked among the top five highest-grossing shows of the rapper’s entire tour.

Upcoming concerts

The fall concert lineup continues with King George, an R&B southern soul singer and songwriter, who is scheduled to return to the Coliseum on September 19.

After that, the schedule gets even busier. Voisin said the Coliseum has six shows planned for October, including performances from some major names in music.

Country singer and songwriter Jon Pardi is scheduled to perform on October 3.

“It is going to be a huge, huge party. It’s on a Saturday night,” Voisin said.

Five Finger Death Punch will take the stage October 5, with Cody Jinks opening the show.

“That’ll be a great dynamic there, a little country rock,” Voisin said.

Journey is scheduled to perform on October 12.

“It’s the best fun you’re ever going to have on a Monday. I could tell you that,” Voisin said.

The Coliseum’s fall lineup also includes events for families.

Jurassic Quest is scheduled to take place at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum Convention Center from September 18 through 20. It is the largest touring dinosaur exhibit in the U.S., and includes interactive dinosaur rides, fossil digs, bounce houses, coloring stations, and more.

“Nice family entertainment there. Bring the kids for sure,” Voisin said.

Disney on Ice (wlox)

Disney on Ice will return for three shows from November 19 through 22. Voisin said the production is updated each year. The show takes audiences through scenes from popular Disney films

“Disney is one of the best in the industry when it comes to live entertainment. So, we’re just glad to have them in our building,” Voisin said.

Ticket sales and future events

Voisin said the Gulf Coast’s location makes it an attractive destination for both artists and fans.

“We have a great asset here. We’re right on the Coast,” Voisin said. “So, why not come to a great show, experience what Biloxi and the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast has to offer.”

He also encouraged people to buy tickets early, saying strong advance sales can help the Coliseum secure more shows in the future.

“If you wait too long, there are a couple of things that happen. The promoters or the artists, they get a little worried. Like, okay, are we going to sell enough to cover our expenses?” Voisin said. “But the faster you buy tickets, the more the shows you enjoy will be coming to the Coast.”

Voisin also said he is working to bring a men’s basketball game between Ole Miss and Southern Miss back to the Coliseum, although the event has not been officially announced.

“I love, love, love those two schools, and that’s a great rivalry. We love to have it in the Coliseum. And, you know, we’re working towards having it right now,” Voisin said.
