BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — Mississippi Magazine has named the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art the 2026 best museum in Mississippi.

The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum is the South’s only Frank Gehry-designed museum campus. It is also home to the legacy of George E. Ohr, also known as the “Mad Potter of Biloxi.”

“I say that we have a lot of George Ohr pottery, a lot of works of art, but we consider the campus a work in its own right and care for it accordingly,” said David Houston, executive director of the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art.

Museum officials are extending gratitude to museum visitors, volunteers, and artists while celebrating the honor.

The museum is located at 386 Beach Boulevard in Biloxi and is open Tuesday through Saturday.
