WAVELAND, Miss. (WLOX) — Banana Ball fans got an early chance to meet their favorite players Friday morning ahead of a high-energy, sold-out weekend series on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Fans gathered at 9:30 a.m. at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Waveland — an official partner of the Loco Beach Coconuts — to greet players, snap photos, and share in the pre-game excitement.
The Loco Beach Coconuts face off against the Firefighters on Friday and Saturday night at Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi. First pitch for both sold-out games will be at 7 p.m.

For the players, the community interaction off the diamond is just as meaningful as the action on it.
“It is super cool. It never gets old,” said Sal Jacobo, shortstop for the Loco Beach Coconuts. “Every stop that we go to, just being able to see the community come together and have a good time. For how much negativity is in this world and in society, just having a few hours of joy and pure happiness and just enjoying being around each other, enjoying goofing off and doing whatever at the ball park and just having fun.”

With the series taking place along the Coast, fans attending the games can expect a water-based theme celebrating the beachside atmosphere.
