HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - The Hattiesburg Zoo is getting ready for spooky season.
All Hattiesburg Convention Commission employees were at the zoo Monday, setting up for Zoo Boo.
Organizers say the event has been around for many years.
Staff members are also taking part in a contest as different groups are decorating each zone.
Lanterns will also return to Zoo Boo for their second year.

“What that is, is a chance to give the public just a special experience of seeing the zoo at night, seeing it with these beautiful lanterns, the decor, and kind of making it an annual event,” said Hattiesburg Convention Commission Executive Director Rick Taylor.
“We have a lot of repeat people that come back every year, bring their kids, dress them up in costumes, and come and kind of kick off the fall season here at the Hattiesburg Zoo.”
Zoo Boo begins on Oct. 9.
It will be on Friday and Saturday the first two weekends, then from Oct. 23-30.
