BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — A new Chick-fil-A opened Thursday on Pass Road in Biloxi.

While a Chick-fil-A operates inside Edgewater Mall, Thursday’s opening marks the first standalone brick-and-mortar location in the city.

To celebrate the opening, customers who arrived dressed as cows or wearing black and white spots received a free entree.

Mitchell Daniel, owner and operator of the new Chick-fil-A restaurant, said he hopes the location becomes a longtime fixture in the community.

“We’re permanent. We’re here forever,” Daniel said. “We want this thing to be the example for Pass Road, and we just want to bring some life back. I know we’re still growing past Katrina, and we’re going to bring some energy back to Biloxi, even though there’s a great community and culture here.”

The restaurant is located at 2356 Pass Road and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
