JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) — An all-ages talent showcase is coming to The Shed Barbeque & Blues Joint in Jackson County on Oct. 14 as part of Red Radio’s Talent Night.
The event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. at The Shed, located at 7501 Highway 57.
Full bands are welcome to participate, and each act gets about 15 minutes or three songs.
Mandy Andersen of Red Radio Productions South said you can expect about 20 different acts during Talent Night.
“We move it pretty fast and pretty smooth. People are getting familiar with the way that we set it up. Everything is kind of backlined, so it makes for an easy transition,” Andersen said.

Free primitive camping will also be available at The Shed during the event.
“We have a lot of travelers that come through. We want people to stay and be safe, and that way they get home the next day,” Andersen said.
The Red Radio Show started as a way to sample music from musicians in the area, including Dell Smith and Organized Grime.
“They liked our music and wanted to incorporate it into their show, and so we wrote the theme music for the Red Radio Show,” Smith said.
Andersen said the show highlights those musicians and helps connect them with band spots for shows and events on the Mississippi Coast.
