GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) — Setup was underway Saturday at Cruisin’ Central at Jones Park as volunteers geared up for the 30th anniversary of Cruisin’ the Coast.
Volunteers picked up their iconic yellow shirts and badges ahead of the weeklong event.
With this year marking three decades of Cruisin’, organizers said they are expecting another big turnout and couldn’t pull it off without their volunteers.
Once the cars start rolling in, keep an eye out for those yellow shirts. Volunteers will be stationed across the coast helping keep the massive event running smoothly.
“It takes us about 1,400 volunteers to put Cruising the Coast together. And we’ve got a great crew here. This is our Cruising Crew community volunteers that help us with the event. We also have 12 car clubs that help us with Cruising the Coast. And we’re getting ready for the event and everybody’s got their shirts and all ready to get to work and have some fun,” Cruisin’ the Coast Director Woody Bailey said.
